Deliciously fattening bacon. Breakfast was overall quite delicious and the prices are excellent. The property is beautiful and the interior is cozy. I also really enjoyed the hashbrowns. We'll be back.

Really great breakfast place located in a gun club. Fresh traditional breakfast in a delightful rustic setting. Somewhat hard to find but a real local gem.

Great local place for a reasonable breakfast. Especially if you are looking for something different than the same old places. Just as previous reviewers stated, thus place is not for vegetarians. Caged birds out front for shooting. Thick crispy scrapple and bacon... I went with my Dad who loves greasy spoons. I had the farmer's omelette, filled with meat, and covered in sausage gravy. A bit a everything. Don't go if you are looking for white table cloth service. Go if you appreciate diners and good diner food. Waitress was courteous. I would go again.

They get 5 stars for the most amazing bacon I have ever eaten. I ordered the pancakes with bacon and for less than 7 bucks I got 3 huge pancakes with 3 heavenly slices of thick cut bacon and coffee. Although the pancakes were solid, the bacon was the reason I would come back to Powderbourne again and again. The thick bacon slices tasted faintly of BBQ smoke and were cooked to perfection; slightly crisp around the edges and chewy in the middle. I went with 3 others who also enjoyed their breakfast. The pork chop special was on the menu the morning we ate at Powderbourne and my friend said it was really tasty. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, there is no more smoking in the restaurant (yay!).

Powderbourne has some really good, belly filling, food. Unfortunately you're going to need a really high tolerance for cigarette smoke as they do allow smoking and it seems like everyone within a 20 mile radius that smokes comes here to eat and smoke! I'm not sure how they get around the Pennsylvania law that was passed not too long ago that prohibits smoking except in places where there is a certain ratio of business coming from alcohol vs food sales. Maybe it's because they're a gun club that just happens to serve breakfast and lunch? Regardless of the reason eating here is like eating your breakfast/lunch while sitting in an ashtray full of lit cigarettes. If you don't mind cigarette smoke then I think you'll enjoy it here - not taking into account the intermittent sounds of shotgun blasts going off in the background. :-) I've only went here when friends wanted to go. I wouldn't go here of my own accord because it's just too smoky for me to enjoy my food. It's such a shame too because while the place does have a pretty hick-ish clientele (it's a gun club out in the boonies after all), the food and service has been consistently good on the occasions I was here. If it weren't for the smoking aspect I would give the place 4 stars but I just can't see how a nonsmoker can enjoy eating here - yes it gets THAT smoky.

Good , cheap breakfast. But dont go expecting anything fancy. Waitress staff definatly wear their moods on there shelves. Seating outside is nice, except they havw a huge fly problem!!

Best breakfast! We try and go here as often as possible but it is a hike for us. Perfect for the outdoors man. Usually need a nap after their filling, home style cooked meals. Gets busy so get there early.

5 Stars - for the best Pennsylvania style breakfast around. 2 Stars - for their quintessentially horrid Berks County customer service. Powderbourne is nestled far off the beaten path, in the backyard of PA's good country scenery. The grounds of the Gun Range are just outside their patio, and offer a superb backdrop to a summer's weekend brunch. However, make no mistake: the staff is markedly inflexible. Their bacon is so superb that they have the luxury of being the gateholders to the thick, delicious, porkchop-like slabs of heaven. And they wield that power menacingly. Do try this place out. It's worth it by a long shot.

We love breakfast. We love bacon. Eggs. Potatoes. Toast. Coffee. Scrapple. Sausage. We love all of the above at this tiny 'off the beaten path' ' middle of nowhere ' place called powderbourn. Allow me to emphasize... This place is bare bones ... Do not come looking for A N Y thing other than great food, adequate service, FAST HOT AND YUMMY FOOD... And a LOW PRICED BILL. The first bite of bacon sends me over the edge EVERY VISIT!! Yes, it IS that Good

I love the Texas French toast! I get it every time we eat there. The bacon is what they're known for! DELISH! Cute hidden gem and so close to home.

Pretty solid food and service. Nothing to write home about though. Gets pretty packed on the weekends so make sure to get there at a decent time

Vegatarians and PETA members beware! This is not everyone's cup of tea. The restaurant is situated in the midst of a gun club. When you arrive at the property you will be greeted by several huge enclosures filled with thousands of pheasants, chukkars, and other varieties of game birds. They all appear to be healthy and happy (?). In keeping with the setting the restaurant atmosphere is country all the way, complete with stone walls, rustic wood beams, a funtionable wood burning stove, and sassy (but friendly) waitresses. Most important, you are offered and abundance of no frills (with the exception of the crepes) good ol' country cookin' prepared like grandma used to make. We have been going here off-and-on for several years for breakfast. The delicious bacon is like none other you have experienced, meaty and flavorful. The other breakfast items are well prepared pretty standard (with the exception of the crepes) fare. The waitresses are friendly and efficient with a great sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoy bantering with them, though we're not sure that they do with us! The bus boys hustle, they're always on the lookout for a table to clear and set. This is the place to try if you're looking for a different experience from "there all the same" diners.

Very nice for an old fashioned breakfast. Not the place to go if you are on a diet. I would like more options on types of milk and maybe some vegetarian options, but that is not a reason to complain, that is their style. Maybe too much to eat! LOL Be prepared to wait on line. It is very popular.

great breakfast, can get very busy though. wait staff, at least from my experience, can be rude. it's just they are very busy and i guess they are grumpy. get some bacon, you won't be let down!

Can't be beat for breakfast. Bacon and Sausage is superior. Very casual gun club setting. Very good place.

A great breakfast at reasonable prices. If you are really hungry, you have to try the farmers omelet. It has 3 eggs, 3 meats, cheese & home fries in it covered with sausage gravy. Order it with a side of scrapple and you have all major food groups covered. Oh, and to all of the smokers you will now have to go outside for your breakfast smoke breaks cause there is no more smoking inside.

Terrific food. Breakfast items are ordered by number. You get quite a selection. Thick bacon is excellent. Scrapple is interesting. Lunch items are standard fare. Hamburgers are moist and tasty. Great value. You will not go broke eating here. In warmer weather, you can sit outside on the deck. Place always seems full, but you can find a seat with little wait except on Saturday mornings. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Absolutely the best breakfast around!!!! Every time I go I am completely satisfied and stuffed!! The bacon is cut thick and its naturally smoked, purely delicious! Only 12 minutes from Macungie. I highly recommend it.

THEY ALLOW SMOKING!! What is up with that. Zero tolerence for that, will not be back until it changes. GROSS!

UPDATE! Powderbourne NO LONGER allows smoking in the restaurant. This began January 1, 2011. Breakfast is still amazing, bacon is still the size of a small country. NOM!
